2023's Reflection on A New Journey
I want to write a 2023 reflection in English to remember that I must use my English regularly and always improve it.
2023 is a special year for me because I start my new academic journey to a Master's Degree. The story started in mid-2022 when I chatted via WhatsApp with Pak Iwan Setiawan, I got his phone number from the Study Program's Website. During that period, I asked about the curriculum of the Agricultural Economics Study Program and the chance thesis topic that I was interested in. Now, I get lectures from him and discuss them regularly. I am really grateful for that.
If I remember the process and the decision, I think it wasn't an easy option. But Alhamdulillah, Allah SWT gives me the way.
I submitted the Master's Selection (SMUP) in March and I got the announcement on Ramadhan 23, 1444 H, or April 14, 2023, on my Elder Brother's Birthday. It was a really special day for me.
I will tell you a bit about the process. For the administration, I took the Offline English Language Test (ELT) on January 25 at UNPAD Dipatiukur and the Tes Kemampuan Akademik (TKA) Online on 31 January, on my Mom's birthday. Alhamdulillah I could pass the tests on first-time taking. I continued to make a Statement of Purpose as an administrative document. I got the interview selection on April 11, 2023, and the announcement on April 14, 2023.
After I was officially passed the selection, I tried to fulfill the administrative document for the Jabar Future Leaders Scholarship (JFLS), like LoA (Letter of Acceptance). I asked to Directorate of Academic Affairs and Internationalization UNPAD via email for the LoA. Unfortunately, I was rejected from the scholarship. So for the first semester, I did self-funding with help from my Mom. I would like to find another scholarship for the other semesters. I hope I will get it. Aamiin..
I officially became a UNPAD student in August when I got a Student's ID Card and did Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru in the Faculty of Agriculture. Then, I started learning in the first semester.
I was really grateful that I got new friends, colleagues, and lecturers who supported my learning journey at UNPAD. I really enjoyed the facilities and environment in Pascasarjana Faperta UNPAD especially and UNPAD generally.
Now, I am waiting for the score of GPA in the first semester. I hope I can get good scores. Aamiin..
This new journey is an opportunity to develop myself, my skills, and my expertise, and deep dive into a new subject that I want to advance: Agricultural Economics, Development, and Policy.
I hope Allah SWT always blesses my way and gives me the best future ahead. Aamiin..
